How AHP Model Contributed to Rural Roads Planning and Prioritization?

In my role as a Transport Economist, I contributed to a transformative project focused on the planning and prioritization of rural roads in Punjab, Pakistan, uisng Analytical Hierarcial Process (AHP) Model. This project was designed to address the pressing need for a systematic approach to rural infrastructure development, ensuring that limited resources were allocated to projects with the highest potential impact. My involvement was pivotal in developing an empirical prioritization model that would serve as a cornerstone for strategic investment decisions in rural road networks across the province.

The primary objective of the project was to create a robust model for prioritizing rural road projects based on a comprehensive set of socio-economic, environmental, and connectivity factors.

I spearheaded the development of this empirical model, which was grounded in Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA). This involved integrating various indicators such as road linkages, socio-economic benefits, and environmental impacts into the model.
