Abstract

Research Summary

Province-wide skills mapping exercise for TEVTA — combining sectoral demand surveys, labour force analysis, and district-level GIS mapping to assess skills requirements and inform TEVTA's training programme realignment across Punjab.

The Punjab Skill Mapping 2021 — conducted by the Urban Unit for TEVTA — provides an evidence-based assessment of skills requirements across Punjab’s economy. Through sectoral and spatial analysis, the study classifies the skills needs of each economic sector at the district level, enabling TEVTA to understand current labour force demands and deploy relevant training programmes. The exercise combines employer demand surveys, labour force analysis, and GIS-based spatial mapping to produce a comprehensive picture of skills supply-demand dynamics. Findings directly informed TEVTA’s programme realignment and geographic expansion decisions across Punjab’s districts.
